Designers of the stunning outdoor display have arranged 35 million multicolored lights into over 20 displays across the park's 800 mu (500,000 square meters) area. The displays focus on romantic and fairytale themes and vibrantly erupt into life every day around nightfall.
As the first show of its kind in Yangzhou, the light display has become one of Jiangsu's must see sights of the summer and thousands of sightseers have already made the journey.
The festival uses advanced LED technology, which is not only environmentally friendly but also a better suited form of lighting to create an aesthetically beautiful fantasyland. The Marco Polo Flower World display also uses a panoply of other optical treats including lasers, projected images, and 3D technology.

Those not wowed by the myriad of lights on display can seek comfort in some of the park's other attractions. There are a multitude of activities and many refreshment stands offering local food and drink.
On the entertainment front, artisans have set up stall to sell their wares, several different musical acts perform in the park, and young local designers offer the latest styles for the fashion-minded. On the culinary side of things, there will be fresh seafood, tasty barbeque, authentic Yangzhou snacks, and sumptuous foreign flavors to satisfy even the most discerning of foodies.
The light festival is open from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm every evening and will run until Sept 8. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance to the park from 9 am to 9 pm every day. Tickets are 60 yuan ($9) for adults and 30 yuan for children and the elderly.
