A China Railway High-speed (CRH) train, D2268, passing Yangzhou and with a final destination of Chongqing North Station, has run once a day instead of every other day since Aug 31. A new train, D9674, also began operations on Sept 1, departing from Yangzhou and arriving in Nanjing.

The CRH train, D2268, stops in Nantong, Taizhou and Yangzhou of Jiangsu province, Hefei and Liu'an of Anhui province, Hankou and Jingzhou of Hubei province, before finally arriving in Chongqing. According to Yangzhou Railway Station, passengers should note that tickets for train D2268 are sold five days ahead of departure, instead of the usual 10 days.

To meet a diverse array of travel demands and to offer more choice, the Shanghai Railway Bureau decided to add another CRH train numbered D9574, which has been traveling from Yangzhou directly to Nanjing every morning since Sept 1. According to Yangzhou Railway Station, the train sets off at 6:47 am from Yangzhou, and arrives in Nanjing at 7:37 am, traveling nonstop. The whole trip takes only 51 minutes.

The D9574 makes travel more convenient for Yangzhou residents, especially for those who work and study in Nanjing. The ticket price of the D9574 remains the same as before, 58 yuan ($9) for first-class seats and 37.5 yuan for second-class seats.
