Yangzhou in East China's Jiangsu province issued a series of pilot policies on May 7 to make the city more attractive to foreign professionals.
The city will set up a specialized fund to introduce foreign talents. For example, the newly-built provincial foreign expert workshops will receive an award of 40,000 yuan ($6,283), while new national and provincial-level foreign expert introduction bases can get bonuses of 100,000 and 50,000 yuan respectively.
Yangzhou will also set up some 10 branch offices in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan, in charge of recommending foreign professionals to Yangzhou and helping the city open up job fairs and other talent introduction affairs overseas.
Branch offices will receive awards from Yangzhou once the city introduces in their recommended foreign talents.
