The historical city of Yangzhou in Jiangsu province has updated its "cultural menu", just in time for the upturn in numbers of tourists that will accompany the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
For tourists who want to get immersed in the local culture, the Yangzhou Dual Museum (Yangzhou Chinese Block Printing Museum and Yangzhou Museum) is a good choice.
An exhibition featuring the unique culture along Grand Canal, also known to Chinese people as the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is available until June 18, displaying the past and present of the world's longest and oldest man-made canal.
Meanwhile, an exhibition showcasing the close bonds between Yangzhou and China's ancient salt industry is on show at the museum until June 20. And on the morning of June 16, visitors can try their hands at designing their own salt sculptures, exploring the artistic creation process and gaining new perspectives.
While before Aug 1, visitors can also set their eyes upon a large variety of blue-and-white porcelains, which were created in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and then exported to foreign markets.
