The main exhibition hall of the 10th Jiangsu Horticultural Expo, thanks to the application of modern and high technology, displays the charm of Yangzhou gardens.
At the starting point of the tour route, the exhibition hall covers an area of 12,000 square meters. The three-floor hall is in original wood color and is in the shape of a resting bird.
The design of the hall is based on a national-level first class painting of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) named Yangzhou Dong Yuan Tu (Painting of Yangzhou East Garden).
"Modern wood frame construction is used in the exhibition hall, giving the hall an ambient light but with good thermal insulation," said Wang Jianguo, chief designer of the hall.
Cutting-edge intelligent and digital technologies such as LED screens, and human-machine interaction have been applied in the hall to bring the Yangzhou gardens to life through a 3D version.
One highlight of the hall is a 360-degree arc-shaped screen of over 30 meters displaying Yangzhou's thousands years of history.
"Mixing high technologies into the normal exhibition makes this year's expo different from previous ones," said Luo Shenghao, designer of the exhibition area in the hall.
The interactive area in the hall will also allow visitors to play games, such as some motion sensing games, where they will be able to learn more about Jiangsu horticulture.
