Yangzhou welcomes visitors during Dragon Boat Festival

Tourist attractions in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province will hold a series of events during the upcoming three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday under the epidemic prevention and control requirements of the local government.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, which is June 25 this year.

Night tours and free nighttime markets will be held at Slender West Lake Scenic Area. Hongqiaofang Commercial Street and Huaduhui Park will open free nighttime markets featuring special local cultural products, and traditional performances with Yangzhou elements will also be staged.

Outdoor performances of Qian Qiu Fen Dai, also known as Eternal Beauties, will be held in Geyuan Garden from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on June 25 to 27 featuring Yangzhou storytelling, puppetry, singing and dancing.

In addition, dragon boat racing, a typical customs for the Dragon Boat Festival, will be held in Yangzhou's Beihu Wetland Park on June 25.

Nashan Geology Park welcomes families and visitors to fish and catch shrimp in the park's mountain spring over the holiday. Visitors can even cook their spoils on the spot.

The local tourism bureau stressed the importance of travel safety and epidemic prevention and control during the holiday break.
