Maple leaves create a special splash of red color in Ge Garden in the early winter, attracting numerous visitors.
Ge Garden is listed as one of the four most famous private gardens in China.
The garden is so called because Huang Zhiyun, a rich salt merchant and the owner of the garden, thought highly of the upright character of the bamboo. At the same time, bamboo leaves look like the Chinese character "ge (个)", so the name of "Ge Garden" was given.
In addition to bamboos, rockeries formed from different kinds of rocks are also something visitors shouldn't miss. People will marvel at the great skills of stone-pilling by ancient Chinese.
