The second Jianzhen Cherry Blossom Carnival opened on Jianzhen Road in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province on March 23.
Hundreds of cherry blossom trees make the road one of the hottest spots in Yangzhou during the flower season.
The trees were jointly planted by Yangzhou citizens, citizens from Nara in Japan, members from the China-Japan Friendship Association as well as the management committee of Yangzhou's Slender West Lake scenic spot.
More than 60,000 people came to Jianzhen Road to appreciate the cherry blossoms on the first day of the carnival.
The organizer of the carnival also held a series of activities, such as a treasure hunt and a cherry blossom post office, to add some interest and interactivity to the event. The event will last for about ten days.
The first carnival held last year attracted nearly 400,000 local people and nonlocal tourists.
