Yangzhou in East China's Jiangsu province will launch more than 20 promotional activities for intangible cultural heritages as Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which falls on June 11 this year, draws near.
According to the celebration schedule released on June 6, the activities will be held from this week until September both online and offline to promote intangible culture in Yangzhou and support rural revitalization.
The opening ceremony for the series of events in celebration of the 2022 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day will be held on June 10 at Sanwan Grand Canal Intangible Cultural Heritage Park, during which the first group of 12 intangible cultural heritage productive protection bases in Yangzhou will be unveiled and the "Yangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Goods" online shopping platform will open as well.
In addition, an intangible cultural heritage market will be held at Sanwan Grand Canal Intangible Cultural Heritage Park from 4 pm to 8 pm from June 10 to 12. Practitioners of local intangible cultural heritages in Yangzhou, such as woodblock printing, puppetry, dragon dancing, and Wuqiao folk shows will showcase their skills and sell related cultural products.
Visitors will also be able to learn woodblock printing and dough modeling, as well as try beauty products made by Xiefuchun and eat Yangzhou fried rice at the market.
