Slender West Lake scenic area, the most popular tourist attraction in Yangzhou, opened a smart service zone at its north gate on June 1.
Visitors can buy tickets, see information about the scenic area and try on virtual reality (VR) equipment in the smart service zone.
With a self-service ticketing machine, tourists can scan a QR code on screen and pay for tickets to the scenic area through WeChat. They can buy tickets for a single attraction or several attractions.
The multifunction intelligent information screen installed on the wall shows real-time weather, ticket prices, activities, parking spaces and the number of visitors.
Visitors can even see previews of wonderful views of Slender West Lake wearing multi-angle VR equipment.
In light of the COVID-19 epidemic, visitors should book tickets online using their real names on the official website or WeChat account of Slender West Lake scenic area.
To avoid overcrowding, people can enter the park with their registered ID cards in three four-hour blocks – 6 am to 9:59 am, 10 am to 1:59 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm. The number of visitors is limited in each period.
Slender West Lake scenic area is planning to introduce more smart tourism services and smart service zones, according to officials from the area's management department.
