Yangzhou in East China's Jiangsu province held a culture and tourism consumption season event from July 15 to 17.
The event was aimed at boosting growth in the culture and tourism sector, which was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Art performances featuring Yangzhou's culture and history were staged at the launch ceremony.
Six exhibition areas were also set up to display cultural and creative products themed on The Summer in Yangzhou, a campaign launched by the local government to boost cultural and tourism consumption in summer.
In addition, 10 themed activities, 16 rural tourism routes and a series of preferential policies were released at the ceremony.
According to authorities, the 10 themed activities include an immersive night tour of the Slender West Lake, a study tour of museums, the 22nd Shaobo Lake Crawfish Festival, and the music festival.
The 16 rural tourism routes range from ecological scenic spots and summer resorts to summer camps.
Shen Wenjie, director of the city's bureau of culture, radio, film, television and tourism, said that more activities featuring local culture would be rolled out to stimulate cultural and tourism consumption.
