Yizheng, a county-level city in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province was shortlisted as a boutique rural tourism route by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism in July.
The route comprises four scenic spots: Tianle Lake tourism resort, Nashan Geological Park, Miaoshan village in Xinji town and Shierwei ancient town.
The Tianle Lake tourism resort, a provincial four-star rural tourism area, offers courses on science, labour, survival, civility and traditional culture.
Visitors can also do rafting in the resort.
Nashan Geological Park, a national 4A scenic spot, uses modern technologies to provide an immersive experience while educating visitors about the formation of volcanic rocks.
Tourists can enjoy the ecological landscape of Nashan Mountain which is located adjacent to the park.
Miaoshan village is a provincial key village for rural tourism. A Han Dynasty (202 B.C.- 220 A.D.) cemetery that has been designated as a national key cultural relic for protection is located in the village.
The village has also developed an agricultural park which provides courses about how to grow trees and manage soil.
Shierwei ancient town is best known for its history in transporting salt. China's only salt transport museum opened here on May 17, 2019.
Visitors can also enjoy local delicacies such as the dried bean curd in the town.
