Yanhu village in Hanjiang district of Yangzhou in East China's Jiangsu province is known for its delicacies and pleasant sights, and is one of the best retreats in the city to seek reprieve from the summer heat.
Located along Shaobo Lake, the village boasts stunning views of the sunrise and sunset.
Besides stunning views of nature, the village also boasts a vibrant nightlife scene which features a camping site where visitors can take part in activities such as concerts, campfire parties and outdoor movie screenings.
Those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city can choose to spend a few nights at a charming homestay in the village.
Visitors can take their kids on a study tour in the village, where the Yangzhou Fishery Culture Museum was opened to the public in October 2020.
The village, dubbed "the most charming fishing village of China", is a national key village for rural tourism. Here, tourists can experience local fishery customs and enjoy local delicacies such as crawfish, a popular summer snack that goes well with an ice-cold mug of beer.
