As a land of the outdoors, it's not surprising that camping in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, is a popular pastime, especially due to travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here are some of the best campgrounds in the city.
Xiangxieli Rose Garden
Located in Sheyanghu town of Baoying county in Yangzhou, the garden is a provincial four-star rural tourism destination that features recreational fishing, motorhome sites and a children's park.
Baoying Lake National Wetland Park
Situated along the Grand Canal, the park is a natural oxygen bar with more than 3,000 mu (200 hectares) of metasequola, over 50 Chinese medicinal plants and more than 150 species of birds.
Visitors can get closer to nature in the park by feeling the sound of nature - chirps of birds, murmurs of springs and rustling of leaves.
Beihu Lake Wetland Park
Located in Hanjiang district, the park boasts a 25 mu (1.67 hectares) of grassland along the lake that is a perfect place for camping, team building and science promotion.
The grassland is also equipped with facilities for barbecuing and leisure activities such as sightseeing boats.
Yanhu village
Dubbed "the most charming fishing village of China", Yanhu village in Hanjiang district boasts stunning views of nature.
The village has built a camping site on the island of the Shaobo Lake where visitors can take part in activities such as concerts, campfire parties and outdoor movie screenings.
There are few greater pleasures than sitting around a campfire on a clear-skied evening gazing at the stars and listening to waves breaking or native birds calling.
