With the weather getting colder, wintersweet flowers at the Slender West Lake scenic area in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province have come into full bloom, emitting their delicate fragrance and infusing the frigid air with life.
The small yellow clustered flower is energizing the scenic area during the chilly days of winter.
Wintersweets originated in China and are highly appreciated in Chinese culture for their endurance in severe winters. In addition to pine and bamboo, they are referred to as one of the Three Friends of Winter.
