Shierwei Historical and Cultural Block in Yizheng, a county-level city in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has been rated a national 3A scenic attraction, the Yangzhou bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism, and sports announced on April 6.
Located in Yizheng's Xincheng town, the historical and cultural block has been tapping its abundant salt merchant cultural resources to bolster the tourism sector.
The block has established buildings such as a salt transportation culture museum to showcase its salt and food cultures.
The town was one of the major salt transportation hubs in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
