Rural tourism in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province witnessed a strong recovery during the five-day May Day holiday, local authorities said.
Sixty-nine key villages for rural tourism in the city welcomed more than 700,000 tourists during the period, a year-on-year increase of 229.26 percent, official statistic show.
Champs Rose Park in Baoying county in Yangzhou received 41,300 tourists over the period.
Miaoshan village in Yizheng, a county-level city in Yangzhou, which is home to a grave from the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), attracted many students to go on a study tour during the holiday.
Baitahe Ecological Park in Jiangdu district was also a popular destination among tourists looking for an idyllic getaway.
