The Daqiao town in Jiangdu district, Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, was built in the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and is an important transportation hub connecting southern and northern China.
The national historical and cultural town has well-preserved ancient buildings, streets, and alleys built in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) and features many intangible cultural heritage items including fountain-pen-making techniques, gold-and-silver-ornaments-processing skills and lacquer painting.
Visitors can also find local delicacies such as mutton soup, tofu and pufferfish in the town.
