The 2024 Slender West Lake Floral Festival opened on April 8, heralding a month-long celebration of vibrant blossoms.
During the festival, Slender West Lake in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province will be in full bloom, complemented by a series of flower-themed interactive experiences inviting locals and tourists to appreciate the beauty of flowers at peak bloom.
This year's festival features designed flower beds, arches, floral art pieces, and wall-mounted floral exhibitions, showcasing over 100 varieties and more than 200,000 quality flowers. Unique varieties such as cardamom, needle grass, and crown lilies are making their debut.
Additionally, over 100 varieties of hydrangeas are on show, including 15 new additions. Wanhuayuan Park in the scenic spot boasts over 20 types of tulips, complemented by traditional favorites like peonies, crabapples, and cherry blossoms.
Park management has also arranged several sets of floral landscape sketches at key points. European-style garden benches, musical notes, violins, and other floral sculptures bring a unique blend of Chinese and Western charm, adding a touch of whimsy to the experience.
To further immerse visitors in the flowers and enhance their experience, the scenic area will roll out 10 major experiential activities.
During the festival, two floral exhibitions—the International Clematis Exhibition and the Yangtze River Delta Rhododendron Boutique Exhibition—will also be unveiled successively, adding more allure to the event.
