Pedal through Yangzhou

(seeyangzhou.com)Updated: 2024-09-09

When embracing spare time, hopping on a bicycle and roaming around Yangzhou, a city nestled in East China's Jiangsu province, is always delightful.

Here are several recommended cycling routes to explore.

Route 1

Rainbow Avenue along the Yilou section of the Grand Canal has become a popular route for cycling enthusiasts in recent years. From Gaomin Temple, follow the Canal until reaching the Guazhou Ancient Ferry Park — this route has fewer vehicles. It is relatively long and perfect for small-scale races or daily cycling practices.

Route 2

From Hanling Garden (also known as the imperial tomb of Guangling King) to the Shugang Xifeng Ecological Park, the terrain is undulated with hills and valleys. Cycling here, with the shimmering lake and verdant foliage on both sides, transports cyclists into a living canvas of natural beauty.

Route 3

Starting from the area of Sanwan (literally three turns, meaning that the Grand Canal turns three times here), ride north along the Canal, passing through Wenfeng Temple and Kangshan Culture Park until reaching Dawang Temple — this route allows cyclists to experience the intertwining of the city's ancient charm and modern vitality.
