Yangzhou attractions to receive national AAA-level rating

Three scenic spots from Yangzhou have recently been included on the 2025 construction list for national AAA-level tourist attractions.

Nestled in Zaolinwan Ecological Park in Yizheng, the Yangzhou International Horticultural Expo Garden spans 233 hectares and is divided into eastern and western areas.

The Expo Garden features 64 exhibition parks. Of these, 26 are designed for exhibitions showcasing the contributions of cities and enterprises from across China, while 25 highlight those from cities abroad and international organizations.

Tucked away amid the garden's lush bamboo forest lies a panda exhibition park, a tranquil haven for six adorable pandas.

At No 8 Yuxian Street in the Guangling district stands the Family Temple and Mansion of Ruan Yuan. This protected cultural relic site is recognized as one of the 10 famous residences of celebrities in Jiangsu province.

The site was built to commemorate Ruan Yuan (1764-1894), a Chinese official during the mid Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The figure played a pivotal role in managing relations with the West in the crucial decade before the first Opium War (1839-42).

Today, it serves not only as a place for sightseeing but also as a significant venue for various cultural activities during festivals and holidays.

Pishi Street

Connecting Wenchang Road in the north and Guangling Road in the south, Pishi Street is not only lined with thriving shops but also boasts numerous cultural resources.

For example, Dongyue Temple, located here, is the only existent Taoism temple in Yangzhou that serves as a venue for blessing and praying.

In recent years, the street has been honored with multiple accolades, such as provincial-level tourist and leisure block.
