Yangzhou experienced a major tourism boom during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday, attracting more than 3.6 million visitors, a 14.6-percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The city curated a diverse array of recreational activities, including flower-appreciation, cultural displays, themed bazaars, and family-friendly events.
The golden rapeseed flower fields along Gaoyou Lake were a major draw, with more than 40,000 tourists admiring the vibrant blooms. Meanwhile, the Yangzhou International Horticultural Expo Garden captivated families with its giant straw art installations, turning the park into a lively playground for children.

The cultural tourism bazaar in the lush bamboo groves of Geyuan Garden was bustling, with stalls showcasing bamboo carvings, plush toys, and other products. The recreational vehicle camping bazaar in Yizheng, a county-level city of Yangzhou, offering picnics, barbecues, and concerts, was also popular.

Tourism enthusiasm extended into the evenings, with an average of 10,000 visitors per day enjoying captivating night tours and immersive river cruise performances in the stunning Slender West Lake scenic area.

Art venues, including the Yangzhou Grand Canal Theater and Yangzhou Concert Hall, held sold-out performances of modern dances, cultural spectacles, and folk music concerts.
Small theaters also thrived, hosting over 300 performances, including Yangzhou opera, puppetry, storytelling, and stand-up comedy, drawing more than 13,000 viewers.
To accommodate the influx of visitors, 70 tourism volunteer service spots were established, with additional mobile service spots in high-traffic areas, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
