Yangzhou, the first canal city in China, showcased its unique cultural charm to audiences at the 6th Grand Canal Culture and Toruism Expo, which raised its curtain on Sept 12 in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

A number of local cultural tourism enterprises actively participated in the event, offering a spectacular exhibition featuring cultural performances, culinary experiences, cultural and creative products, and intangible cultural heritage interactions, all allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the lively ambiance of canal life.

The exhibition hall's stage came alive with mesmerizing performances, including Chinese zither playing, a Yangzhou puppet show and the melodious tunes of Yangzhou Ditty, an old-fashioned type of folk music.
Guided by skilled intangible cultural heritage practitioners, visitors also had the chance to experience local traditional crafts, such as woodblock printing and Yangzhou paper-cutting, reveling in the pleasure of learning these time-honored skills firsthand.
Furthermore, the Huaiyang Cuisine Museum of China offered a treat for visitors' taste buds, drawing them into the enchanting flavors of the "UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy".

In addition to traditional delicacies, modern beverages also caught young visitors' attention.
"This cup of coffee is truly special, with every sip brimming with the long-lingering taste of coffee and milk," said one visitor after tasting "Yi Wang Qing Shen".
