In Ne Zha 2, the immortal Taiyi Zhenren used a seven-colored, multilayered lotus root to reconstruct the bodies of the protagonists Ne Zha and Ao Bing. Interestingly, Baoying county is renowned as the hometown of the lotus root in China.
"The popularity of Ne Zha 2 inspired us to incorporate Baoying-related elements into the mural," said one painter. "For instance, we depicted swaying lotus leaves and jade-white lotus roots in detail, combining local cultural symbols with this popular IP."
