The Yangzhou shaving blade, approximately 3 inches long, features a thick spine and sharp edge and is equipped with a wooden handle connected by a pivot for enhanced precision. This blade was once highly praised by Emperor Qianlong (1735-96) during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

On Guoqing Road in Guangling district stands Violet, a century-old hair salon. In the 1980s and 1990s, it was a trendsetter in Yangzhou's fashion and created various modern hairstyles. Many local patrons have formed a deep attachment to this salon, where they have been getting their hair cut since childhood.
